Geometric pots

Summary

These cover-pots are designed to take 54mm diameter flower pots. They are easy to 3D print and require a minimum amount of filament. In this page there are STL files for these pots and preferred settings for 3D printing.

Specifications

Fusion360 was used for this design. The cover-pots are destined to accept small flower pots that have a standardized top diameter of about 54mm. The flower-pots snugly fit inside the printed cover-pots.

3D printing

This design is to be 3D printed using the "spiralize outer contour" setting, so no supports required. The maximum overhang is 55°. It is suggested using a line width of 0.6mm. These settings produce a good fit and a good print quality. Given that a medium printing speed is used, all three pots should print in less than 2.5 hours. Using white filament and then painting the print with a primer for plastics can create a surface suitable for painting. These pots were painted with water colours:
